Explain yourself!
Why do we pick the names we pick on these blogs? Some are very obvious, some less so and some, I think, are a complete secret known only to the blogger. As I am telling my secrets at the moment, I shall explain myself.
Legend has it that when my mother was a little girl her aunt bought her a book containing a recipe to make a fairy. My mother spend weeks collecting all of the things that she needed (all very challenging to a 7 year old I believe). Finally, all she needed to complete her spell and make her fairy was a daisy that opened at midnight. Daisys were her favourite flower because they look so sweet and friendly and she was so excited. But she found out (after a couple of trips to her garden late at night and a lot of tears) that daisys that open at midnight just don't exist...
What my mother realised was that although Daisys are pretty and sweet looking and can even make you smile, you must never ever trust them because they will let you down and break your heart... especially at night.

(4.8.03 14:42) My office is very, erm, shall we say, Trendy. You'vejust inspired me to explain the origins of my blog name. My beloved used to (oh, tell the truth) calls me monkey, as I have short arms.?? When he used to call me Monkey, I'd shout back Minky, which turned into Minkleberry, and them Minkleberry Minkleton. (God, I wish I'd never started now!!) |

(4.8.03 14:43) Foolishly, perhaps, I thought your name WAS Daisy. I'm so gullible! What is your real first name, then? My diary name of 'Diary of a Madman' came from on Ozzy song. My user name of davvo_macca comes from one of my many nicknames that my fellow Scousers have adorned me with, including Davey Mac which is what I call myself these days. Sorry, this is a really boring comment, I'll go and find some work to do.Davey xxx |

I know it’s a bit of a hike, but I figure that if you are curious about the blog names, surely you must be curious about the blog people! Please come – it’ll be great, I promise! Keith (awww, go-on.. go-on.. go-on.. go-on.. (repeat ad-infinitum)) [edited to make link work] |

(4.8.03 15:35) Jimi Hendrix once played at the local bingo hall in Tooting, (a little known fact.) Whenever I mentioned this muso gem no one believed me (and why would they), hence the name Jimi Played the Bingo Hall. |

(4.8.03 16:36) bonhote is my middle name - all my father's family have it, way back when they were huguenots booted out of France. thanks for the confectionary, I wasn't sure how it would read, much appreciated. Great topic - I always longed to know the Minkleberry origin. |

(5.8.03 01:00) It all started with the painter R B Kitaj, who as it happens used to live in Primrose Hill, not for from where I now currently abide. Ron (for that is his first name) did this painting called 'The Incunabulist', which I first saw when i was studying in Manchester, hanging at a retrospective in the Whitworth Art Gallery, which I made infrequent pilgrimages to. I would have posted a link to the picture here but Google doesn't seem to know of it. Anyway, an incunabulist is one who studies incunabula, And an incunable is a book printed before 1501. The man in the picture has a funky hat on; I thought he looked cool. The word stuck with me, and this is where it has rubbed off. |

Dysfunctional - well you all know why by now... killingworth2... because my original attempt to log in (this was in beta-testing days) failed... but I like being called 'k2' (an inaccessible mountain in tghe Himalayas) or you can call me Mike |
