On something this morning....
Mother: Darling, I'm trapped.
Daisy: Trapped? What do you mean? Has something heavy fallen on you?
Mother: No sweetie - the electric gates have broken and I can't get out of the house... your fathers still in London and I'm all alone...
Daisy: *laughing silently* Do you have food?
Mother: Yes yes yes not that i'm really doing food at the moment, but I'm supposed to be going for lunch with Irene... I've told her she's going to have rescue me.
Daisy: Is she going to have to scale the fence?
Mother: We both might...
Daisy: In stilettos?
Mother: We'll just have to. I must get out soon... I've been non-containable since I got back from Spain and I can't spend the day just flailing around the house. I'll break something. I've already sewn the vecro on 14 Christmas stockings this morning.
Daisy: Flailing? Christmas stockings? Am I missing something?
Mother: *sulkily* well I have to do something with all my excess energy now that I am a prisoner.

Allan (25.11.03 17:30) Youve just got to learn to let go. It sounds like your mum has been looked after and cosseted for far too long. Encourage her to be independant, in mind and body. Sounds like she may have to be forced into it. We cant have young parents becoming a drain on our time and resources. There's plenty of time for that when they are older! Stand your ground, Daisy, stand your ground. Next time she asks you if its true that you can video one program while watching another......refuse to even answer. |
