In Flanders fields the poppies blow
I just finished planning my lesson on World War I for tomorrow.
It's very nearly the 11th November.

Makes you think.

(3.11.04 00:37) It does indeed, Daisy. Growing up as an army brat, I recall attending church one Sunday every November to pay our respects to the fallen at British military churches in Germany. I despise religion in all of its forms but I will have my own way of pausing and remembering the sacrifices that our forebears made in both World Wars that have allowed me to be free to write this very comment xxx |

(3.11.04 00:40) It certainly does Daisy. We owe them all so much. |

(3.11.04 18:03) Might not be of any use as your lesson is all planned but this is the website for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (www.cwgc.org) and they have loads of info on there, plus people's memories and things. |
